At Old School Dental, our mission is to combine friendly, personalized service with some of the latest dental technology available today. Using the tools outlined below, our team is able to find, diagnose, and treat a wide array of dental problems in less time while keeping our patients more comfortable. Our patients get to experience the best of what’s old and what’s new at every visit, delivering a one-of-a-kind dental experience that always puts a smile on their faces!
Thanks to our intraoral camera, our patients are able to see their smile from Dr. Staten’s point of view. This small device fits easily in the mouth, and it can capture high-resolution images of the teeth and gums we can instantly display on a nearby 42” HD TV. This helps our team spot dental issues even sooner, plus you’ll literally gain a whole new perspective on your smile. Now, instead of just telling you why you need a specific treatment, we can show you!
Our soft tissue laser enables Dr. Staten to perform even the most sensitive periodontal (gum) procedures with relative ease. This instrument generates an extremely concentrated beam of light, and with it, Dr. Staten can quickly eliminate harmful bacteria located beneath the gum line, painlessly remove infected tissue, and even provide a quick and easy gum lift. Whether used restoratively or cosmetically, the end result is a fast, easy, and comfortable experience.
Do you or your child need just a little help to feel comfortable in the dental chair? Nitrous oxide is a colorless, odorless gas that has been used to help soothe nervous dental patients for over 100 years. Just by breathing in the gas through a small nasal mask, a patient will quickly start to feel happier, lighter, and even euphoric during their appointment. And, once the mask is removed, the gas’ effects wear off almost immediately, allowing a patient to go straight back to their day.
If you experience mild to moderate dental phobia, then Dr. Staten may prescribe you a sedative pill to take about an hour before your next appointment. That way, by the time you reach our office, you’ll already be physically and mentally relaxed. Your appointment will seem to fly by, and you’ll likely have little to no memory of it afterwards. It’s the perfect solution to take the stress out of your dental care.
